VOCs: Volatile Organic Compounds, or VOCs, are substances in paint that vaporize at room temperature. Paint manufacturers add these chemicals to keep the product workable and ensure it dries properly after application. However, while VOCs help paint function properly, they pose risks to personal health and the environment. But why are VOCs dangerous?
